Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10 1949) is an American businesswoman, investor, speaker, consultant writer, syndicated columnist, author, and television personality. The Corcoran Group is a New York-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, it was sold to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran resigned from the company shortly after. Corcoran has been a part of 12 episodes of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. By February 2020, she had signed 53 deals. The most significant of these was a purchase of $350,000 for Coverplay at 40 percent. Corcoran is the second of 10 children from a family of Irish Catholics who worked hard, was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. [8] Her mother, Florence, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. Her father was constantly changing jobs throughout Corcoran's career. Her family depended sometimes on food delivered by a friendly local grocer for free food. Corcoran recalls her father as a man who occasionally was a drinker and did her mother a disservice and sneer, especially when he'd been drinking. Corcoran had difficulty in school, and was later told that she had dyslexia. Corcoran started high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after having attended a Catholic elementary school. Corcoran, who had failed many classes during her freshman year, transferred to Leonia High School. There, she received a D.
